Search Terms
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the independent provider that operates the tool. Jones County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy policy and terms control its handling of the query and results.
Messages
If you send an email or contact submission, we retain the message and contact details as needed to respond. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard server, analytics, and advertising technologies may record technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:

- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring site, when supplied

Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy notice governs. Jones County Released Inmates does not control the other site’s collection, security, retention, or disclosure choices.
Some advertising providers may use their own technologies to measure activity across different sites and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs through the provider’s systems, not as a Jones County government function and not as a record hosted by this site.

We do not sell personal information. Data may still pass to limited categories of recipients when needed for the service or required by law:

Texas Government Code chapter 552 governs access to records held by Texas governmental bodies. It does not turn this private website into a county records custodian, and official record requests should go to the agency that created the information.

We use standard, reasonable safeguards suited to a public reference site. No internet transmission, online service, or storage system can be promised as fully secure. We therefore cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or a security incident will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the nature of the data, a person may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about that person
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information where deletion is available
- Stop or limit certain processing
These choices apply to data controlled by this site. Requests about a Sheriff record, court file, TDCJ record, IVSS account, or partner search must be directed to that custodian or provider.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as services, law, or data practices change. A revised version becomes effective when posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use after posting means the new notice applies.
